How checksum verification works

  1. Upload a modified file, or both the original and modified files.
  2. WinOLS identifies a matching module, checks the checksums and corrects them when needed.
  3. Once the result is confirmed, the website displays its status and available actions. Payment is offered only for a successful correction.

Checksum questions

Can I check a file without the original?

Yes, when the plugin supports this mode for your file. Bosch MED17 and some other variants may require the original file from the same software version.

Which formats can I upload?

Raw binary .bin, .mpc, .mod files or files without an extension, up to 19 MiB. Renaming an archive, OLS project or encrypted file does not make it a supported format.

What if the checksums are already correct?

If WinOLS confirms valid checksums without correction, no payment is offered. Unrecognised files and unsuccessful corrections are not charged either.

Does this verify the tuning?

This service verifies checksums, not calibration quality or compatibility with a vehicle. A valid checksum alone does not confirm that a file is suitable for flashing.
